Nathaniel Djanogly. Product of our London Elite development program. A player who through constant hard work and God-given talent, has achieved what seems to be impossible for many.

What could come Nathaniel’s way if not an opportunity to join Brewster Prep. Yes, Brewster prep! One of the USA’s leading basketball programs. Brewster’s Prep basketball team won their 7th National Prep basketball Championship ( 2010,2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019,2020).

Eighteen alumni have played in the NBA, including 10 who have been selected in the NBA draft since 2010. One of the most famous players who attended school in New Hampshire is Donovan Mitchell who recently has been traded to Cleveland Cavaliers.

Since 2001, the program has sent over 170 players to Division I schools, including Stanford University, Georgetown University, University of North Carolina, University of Kansas, University of Michigan, Syracuse University, University of Kentucky, University of Virginia, University of California-Los Angeles, Vanderbilt University, Brown University, Princeton University, Cornell University, Harvard University, and Columbia University.

Nathaniel Joined London Elite at age of 13 and quickly showed what calibre of talent he is. From day one he became a leader of our talented team. His performance was truly outstanding and led to him being called up for the England U15 squad.

Coach Mauro Di Nunzio said:” I am really happy for the opportunity he will have, I believe it is more than deserved. It is been a pleasure to be part of the journey of a talented, hard worker, and coachable player! I wish him all the best and I will be his first follower and fan.”

Nathaniel was a vital part of our successful squad that has been promoted to the U16 Premier league. He contributed a lot to our EYBL U16 campaign and we will for sure miss him. His unbelievable talent, great performances, tones of smiles and memories. We are beyond proud of his journey and will look out for his further progress. Once Elite, always Elite.

Higher Purpose

At London Elite you know we are all about basketball, championship titles, international trips and obtaining scholarships for the most talented, but there is more to us than just hoops, we have plenty of heart! We have a passion for making a deeper impact, not just using catchy wording and social media posts, but real action aimed at trying to make a genuine lasting difference in the world and particularly the community we are truly blessed to be in.

Time and time again we see how it is not a lack of ability that holds young people back from success, but a lack of opportunity. So, with that in mind, we have some wonderful news to share. Ladies and gentlemen, we are very excited to announce that the London Elite are teaming up with The Felix Project for the next two years! 👏🏽🏀🤝💚

The Felix Project is a truly dynamic charity, it’s the biggest food redistribution organisation in London, fighting food waste and hunger across the capital. We know this is quickly becoming one of biggest issues across our society right now. Access to fresh and healthy food is becoming increasingly difficult for people because of the unprecedented levels of inflation and rising of living costs we are all facing.

This is where The Felix Project steps in. The charity works with thousands of organisations, schools and community groups, helping disadvantaged adults and children get access to high-quality food. They provided food for 30 million meals in 2021, and their operation is growing rapidly to try to keep up with the increasing demand. The latest figures found 2 million Londoners live in poverty and the capital has the highest rate of child poverty in the country with 700,000 children living in families struggling with poverty. Meanwhile, our food industry generates 2 million tonnes of good surplus food each year. The Felix Project is here to tackle both issues.

Our GM Daniel Szatkowski said:” Since ‘Day 1’ of London Elite we have been motivated to be more than just basketball mad. With difficult times upon us, we knew it was time to step up and prove this desire to our neighbours and the local community. But we needed the right support and guidance to achieve this. Having The Felix Project was a God send, a blessing in strengthening our potential. I am so excited about our future cooperation.

“Over the coming months London Elite players will be undertaking various activities to support The Felix Project, so make sure you watch our social media channels. The first is having a team participate in THE BIG HALF on Sunday 4th September.”

“Other fundraising activities will include our Men’s team playing in a Felix-inspired alternative kit and some our ticket sales going towards Felix’s work. What is more, our club will design a unique T-shirt for our partnership, these will be sold and all the profits will support The Felix Project.”

Gniezno, Thank You!

Thank you. This is the first thought that comes to our mind when we look back on a recent trip to Poland for the Gniezno cup. We could not be luckier to be able to travel across the continent to take part in one of the biggest youth basketball festivals in Europe. Despite the fact that taking 34 teenagers for 5 days in Poland could be a very difficult logistic task, our coaches stood up to the challenge and made this trip happen. And what trip that was! Watching players bond, support each other, making life friendships while doing what they do best, playing basketball.

Having arrived on Thursday 30th June, our players checked in to a very nice Hotel and after a few hours set off for their shooting session. Friday morning saw our teams starting their tournament.

U15 boys started their tournament with a convincing victory 50-12 over 3rd Israel team Maccabi Ashod. Not long after the first win our youngest team in this tournament faced the German team White Wings. The good all-team effort saw our boys secure 2nd win of the day with a good win 43-20. Our girl’s team faced MKS Piaseczno from Poland in the first game of the tournament. Despite being close in competition our girls fell to the polish side 24-30. Friday evening saw us playing LA BAsketba Warsaw. Girls started really hot with great shooting from Mila Piscitelli and Elia Ando and controlled the game for majority of game however mistakes towards the end saw our side with a heartbreaking 40-37 loss.

Boys U17 set the tone with a big win over Israel Maccabi Ashod. The game remained close till the mid-3rd quarter when our boys went on a big run and secured a 47-26 win! The same day saw our team face home team MKK Gniezno where our boys fell 58-56 in a very dramatic ending. 3rd game of the day for our oldest squad was what to be possibly the most dramatic game for our club at Gniezno Cup. Very well and physical German side Fortuna Logabirum pushed our boys all the way. very slow start 0-13 put our boys in a difficult situation. But amazing support from Girls and U15 boys plus great coaching tips from coach Kieran and coach Daniel saw our boys improve their game with a great comeback. The late3 shot failed and we were to head to overtime against the German side. Both teams traded baskets but it was our boys holding their nerves and collecting a very important win 58-56. Well done!

Day 2 saw our girls play home side. Our girls stayed within a few points for 3 quarters but the experienced polish team secured 46-26 win with a big run in the 3rd quarter. Our girls never gave up and went into the 4th game with a great attitude and collected the first win over Maccabi Ashod. Girls played really well-organised basketball and sealed 49-26 win. Much deserved for our girl’s side who was improving with every minute of basketball played.

Our U15 boys faced a team that later on won the whole cup, the Latvian side Brivsolis Tukums. The boys went head to head and pushed the Eastern European team all the way but came short and lost 45-53. In late Saturday afternoon, our team faced Maccabi Ashod II in-game that would define 2nd place in their group and the right to compete for 3rd place in Gniezno Cup. A closely contested team saw Coach Mauro DiNunzio’s troops playing possibly best basketball also far and claiming a very important win 53-47! truly amazing to see our boys come together.

U17 team could not allow any more losses if they were thinking about winning Cup. After game vs younger polish side Bombardier Szczecin which our boys won easily 55-18, our team went to play previously undefeated Twarder Pierniki Torun. The level of focus, togetherness and effort was absolutely unmatched and our team secured a convincing 59-31.

Sunday was the final day of competition saw our girls losing to MKS Wroclaw which is one of the better polish U17 teams. Despite the great first half, our girls could not keep up with the well-organised and talented team. In our first-ever international tournament, our girls finished 5th overall but the results do not reflect the progress and quality of basketball our girls played. Really impressive!

Our U15 boys faced Swedish side Trellborg Pirates in a 3rd place game. But this was not our game. fatigue took its toll and despite the fight, our boys fell to Swedes 31-47 but overall finished 4th out of 11. Progress made is unreal, the work coach Mauro did, will bring great fruits to this team. The boys made our club very proud!

Our most experienced side, U17 boys. the team that has swept the EYBL stage. Boys’ team are by far the most improved squad London Elite ever had. The team that despite main player A.Willson being injured, stayed together. The team that CLAIMED 1ST PLACE in a very competitive Gniezno Cup. words can’t describe the feeling coaches, parents and club have just from the reflection of these boys’ journey. Devante Sanusi picked all-tournament MVP after displaying amazing performance throughout all 3 days.

Girls Coach Merlin Piscitelli said: “What an incredible weekend! It was a true honour and pleasure to coach the London Elite U17 girls basketball team this past weekend at an International Basketball tournament in Gniezno, Poland that included 3 London Elite teams. With over 30 kids in total, it was a special bonding trip for the players and allowed them to test their talents against some of the strongest basketball countries in Europe ( and beyond) such as Germany, Latvia, Sweden, Poland, Ireland, Israel and more. As a coach, it was inspiring to watch our kids represent the club, country and city at the highest standard both on and off the court, truly proud to be involved and to be able to give back to the kids and sport of basketball”

Bev Guymon Memorial

Weekend 25/25 of June saw the first-ever Bev Guymon Memorial Tournament take place at the Solent Sports Complex, as Boys and Girls teams at the Under 12 and Under 14 age groups get set to compete. Bev, a legend of the game in the region, was always extremely passionate about providing experiences for young basketball players to compete and most importantly be involved in the game we all love so much. Bev has founded Solent Kestrels club and all her work for the club over the last 20 years was as a volunteer, using much of her own money and time to provide opportunities for young people in our region. Bev Guymon has passed away in 1998 after battling pancreatic cancer for a few years. She was 55. Solent Kestrels she started, is now multiple Division 1 men’s champions.

Day 1 saw our U12 boys take part in this great tournament. Group stage saw our boys face Bracknell Cobras, Portsmouth Basketball club and the very competitive Milton Keynes team.

Our boys started the tournament with a commanding win over Bracknell Cobras in the morning behind an all-around team effort. 2nd game of the tournament proved to most competitive as Milton Keynes team showed great athleticism which caused our boys multiple problems on defence. But led by Quentin and Nicholas our boys prevailed with 4 point win. Having closed the group with 3rd win of the day over south cost club Portsmouth, our boys awaited a final against the second Milton Keynes team. Our talented group played really focus and executed the game plan and secured the first-ever Bev Guymon trophy ever! Quentin McKelvey has been voted MVP of the tournament behind his 31 points performance in the final.

On the second day of the tournament, it was our U14 boy’s team travelling to Southampton to participate in the tournament. Our team that has recently been promoted to the U14 Premier competition, did not take this tournament lightly. Boys stormed through the group stage and awaited a final where we met again with the Milton Keynes program. Coach Daniel’s troops started the game with full-court press which caught the opposition off guard. Good start of the game set the tone for the rest of the match up and our boys collected their trophy while Sam Scott received well-deserved MVP award! Watch the highlights below:

This inaugural memorial tournament was a raising donation for Liver and Pancreatic R&D Cancer charity. With over £3.5K raised, it was truly a win-win situation for whole basketball community!

Coach Daniel said:”In my opinion for Bball in the UK to grow bigger, we have to change our approach to grassroots. Bev Guymon tournament just showed what is missing in our country. Events for the youngest in a friendly and competitive environment. I am truly impressed with what the organisers did. Truly hats off to all Solent club!”

History Made

U12  and their first International Trophy won in Belgium

We are pleased to announce that our U12 squad have recently travelled to Belgium for their first international tournament between  26-29th of May 2022 and successfully gained 1st place trophy.

We feel thrilled with this achievement, as we acknowledge the whole process behind the curtains-  countless hours of training and coaching sessions, but also non-court work which involved set up the trip for 29 attendants, booking a coach & ferry, organising a hotel, food entertainment for kids and possible sightseeing after games. Finally, what is the most important thing to prepare mentally this young team for upcoming challenges etc. Our group which travelled to Belgium was made of 11 players and 18 family members & relatives. Both parents and coaches did magnificent work and supported young player on court but also outside it.

After successful check-in into a hotel and getting good night sleep, our boys went to play the home team in the first challenge. A comfortable win was secured with all players getting a sufficient number of mins. Shortly after we faced first of American teams. 40 points win felt unreal as the opposition was well organised, talented and physically ready.  Coach Daniel summed this game” I have seen our team have a great team, but the performance we put against USA Eagles was something I have not seen in a long time, our ball movement, the organised defence was on an absolutely different level”

Having completed first day, our group headed to the beautiful town of Ghent for joint sightseeing and to get a taste of real Belgian waffles and chocolate. In the evening we all gathered to see the local town and head for well-deserved Italian pizza. This was an amazing bonding experience, where parents could get to know each other more, and the team could play a few games together, and eat dinner. That day all smartphones were idle as we  had such a great time together, no one was bothered to check their phones for entertainment reasons. This wonderful restaurant was perfectly scouted by coach Miguel, and believe us, its not so easy to find a venue which would serve to 30 people and can host them.

Second day of the tournament welcomed us with the game against younger team of Space Elite Cadets which was a great opportunity to provide our full roster much-needed experience.

The evening game was probably the most exciting from all group stage where we had a rematch with USA Eagles. American team came out firing and looked really determined to prove the day before was just an accident. Supported by nearly 100 people our American opposition was able to slow down our ball movement, forced our players to take low chances shots and force us to sustain from the non-established lead of no more than 5 points. A nail-bitin finish saw the Eagles taking 1 point lead with 40 secs left, tough baseline floater by Logan Addison regained our small margin lead. However 2 secs to go, the opposition made 1 free throw out of two and the result was tied. Time out called by our coaches helped our boys establish good inbound play, executed by Nicholas Ferrari we all witnessed one of the most acrobatic game-winning shots which secured 2 point win over American team. WOW

Having collected another 2 wins, our boys were indeed quite tired but very happy. The plan for the day was not over as all group headed for 2nd day of sightseeing, this time we got to see the outstanding town of  Brugge. Breath-taking and picturesque architecture divided by channels would remain in our memory, not to mention delicious ice creams topped with Belgian waffles.

3rd and final day saw our young squad facing 3rd time Eagles. The structure of the tournament saw top 2 teams from the group go against each other. Both teams started game off with much of focus on defence limiting opposition’s chances to score. Lead going back and forth provided yet again a lot of emotions to spectators. With 3 point lead, 40 secs to go our team did not lose nerves. Great team offence finished by Judah Assam established 5 point lead which our team never let go. The first international tournament championship has become a reality. History made!

Our U12 team top scorer Quentin said:” The tournament was very diverse. We got to play teams from different parts of the world. Our coaches supporting us during our time playing was vital. We always have good coaches who tell us how to correct mistakes so we try not to let them happen again. It was great to come together and go sightseeing. Trying different foods, seeing different sites and hearing different languages were amazing.

Really bonding with my teammates made me happy. I’ve never taken a long coach ride before and the comforts of having a good bus driver made it a good journey for me, my teammates and my parents. I can’t wait to travel again with my team! “

Elite U12 set on International Duty

U12 players will be on international duty this weekend .This is our first ever trip abroad, and it is set in Belgium.

We are happy to confirm our youngest squad will take part in one of the biggest youth basketball festival, starting this Friday 27th of May 2022. New adventure awaits, and so is new experience which could not be any better. Gerolsteiner Arbeidershuis basketball tournament will take place between the 27-29 of May in the beautiful town of Sint, Belgium . Our team will travel by luxury & comfortable coach this Thursday evening.

The competition at the tournament is looking really strong. Out of 4 teams, our boys will be competing against 3 that are coming from the American AAU system which will provide a great test for our young squad . 5 games across this tournament will be definitely a new experience that our players and coaches cant wait. Space High Elite I (USA), Basket Poperinge (BEL), Eagles Basketball (USA), Space High Elite II (USA). Those teams our young squad will face in the group stage of the tournament.

Our GM Daniel Szatkowski said this: “Since we have opened doors at London Elite, We were committed to providing the best opportunities for junior players in the UK. This tournament is a great opportunity, especially playing against American teams is something rarely seen in UK basketball. There is a lot of great news on the way but we will definitely make most of this Belgium trip.”

National League season recap

Long awaited, Elite’s first National League season has come to the end. It is truly hard to believe this was a premiere season for us. The whole program success stands as a testimony that the hard work at club foundations pays off. Freezing period during lockdown, gave us time to create strategy how to approach season 21/22 in a best possible way. Along with excitement which was high since , multiple teams were heading towards their first ever season at national league level we coudln’t await the moment of start. Few months later , we come out of very successful Summer 2021 where we collected RBL and CBL championship titles!

U12 Review: Unbelievable Journey.

September 21′ brought lots of questions for our youngest members . Most of players from last year have moved up to U14, some moved from the west London area. This made us think if we should push with the project or simply pull out of National league. At times with less then 5 players in training, it became a challenge and test for us as an organisation. Now looking back we can say that It would have been a massive mistake to pull this team out of NL . Our youngest squad Led by Quinton McKelvey picked couple very talented players on the way and finished 2nd place in league! Journey and testimony for all players and parents involved was indescribable. Currently the future is bright!

U14 review: Goals Achieved!

As previously, the stem of the team results lays in our talented players led by young guard Kaya Birsen. Yet again Kaya didn’t disappoint the U14 Elite fans and brought us joy and plenty of great memories with his amazing game. The journey of our young players’ development leads to one conclusion; the coaching and quality structure which London elite offers is the root for our success. Upcoming talents Sam Scott and Aron Okenge will be players to look out for in near future. Our U14 NBL team finished season with record 14-2, claimed the South IV conference championship title and secured a promotion to Premier level of competition next year!

U16I Review: Mission Completed.

After very successful recruiting summer 21′. Our expectations grew big on our upcoming u16 squad. It did not take us long to enter this talented squad into prestigious EYBL. Season started with multiple wins Coach Mauro DiNunzio had lots to look forward to. His troops improved with each week of fixtures and claimed South II conference title behind fantastic 19-1 record! After regular season was finished, Our boys entered promotion play offs where in first round we faced Milton Keynes. Convincing win (79-54) came behind great defensive performance, our squad sealed final where We faced Woking Blackhawks away. As it was last game of the season, our boys came out firing and claimed a Promotion to Western Premier competition with convincing 106-78 victory!

U16II review: Purpose Fulfilled

With numbers constantly going up, we had more then 12 players showing talent good enough for playing at NL level. With placement of U16II into NL, we have invested resources and time which was very beneficial investment for our club . The evident progress made by our team which was mainly year 10 players was really impressive. Team members proved that they deserve to be on A team in upcoming season. Hard work from coach Kieran resulted in team coming to nearly 500 record as they ended up 8-12 in whole campaign! Well done!

U18I Review: Bright Future

After successful summer 21 and securing multiple players with scholarships in USA, We knew that upcoming season will be a tough test. With 90% squad being in first year it suppose to be a learning curve. But it was more then that. Our talented troops led by Oskar Striuga, Anthony Wilson and David Jesubayode, have proven that they are capable of beating any team in their league. Our team came 2nd out 10 and have proven to be a force to look out to in coming season. Eligible players from that squad formed our U17 EYBL team which was capable of sweeping stage in Romania. We can clearly see that right foundation have been laid for next 12 months.

U18II Review: Progress Made.

Do not sleep on this team. Formed with multiple talented U17 players, with whom many travelled with our U17’s team across Europe. It was a big headache in offseason how to classify which player goes to A or B. But we are glad that many players who started off on our second team are now considered strong candidates for our first team in upcoming season. great work by coach Daniel and coach Kieran.

Men’s Review: Undefeated Squad.

There was only one goal for this team. Knowing how much talent, experience and skills we have acquired in last summer, goal could be one. Winning our division 3 league. And team led by coach Sam Stiller did it in perfect way. Going undefeated in whole season shows that there is pure potential is in our men’s section. But best part of it: it is just a beginning! Look out for exciting news coming up in this summer!

Our GM Daniel Szatkowski said: “First ever National League season was a true accomplishment for our program. We have achieved what we set out as a goal. Promotion of 3 out of 4 teams is remarkable achievement. We still have to remember that despite high ambitious, this was our first ever NL campaign. With more fantastic excitement coming to our home, Capital City Academy, we can say one thing. Season 22/23 cannot come any sooner!”

KD committs to JUCO champions.

KD. Karyiek Dixon. Name that was introduced to wider public by countless, high entertaining game dunks. Player that brought hundreds spectators to our home matches with length, athleticism, and versatility which despite young age help him to achieve division 3 MVP title.

KD is widely loved by teammates, coaches and all people involved in our club. It is always saddening to release such a great team spirit player, nevertheless helping young London players achieve their dreams is what lies in centre of our club. Officially we can announce that Karyiek has committed to Vincennes University (VU) playing in NJCAA Div 1.

This is what KD had to say: “My time at Elite this season, playing alongside my teammates and Coach, allowed me to grow as a player and helped show me the player I can become. Finishing the regular season undefeated was a goal we shared, achieved and was well deserved. The next step on my basketball journey is joining the trailblazers family at Vincennes University, where I will further develop my game and work to help the team win another National championship.”

The VU Men’s basketball team holds a record of 681-74 within fantastic P.E. Complex, including a 179-13 record under current VU head coach Todd Franklin. Know as Trailblazers, VU Basketball team is 4 time NJCAA Division 1 champions, with last title recorded in 2019.

After the Trailblazers were awarded the championship trophy and cut down the nets at Hutchinson Sports Arena, Franklin was named Coach of the Tournament and freshman Kevin Osawe was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.  Sophomores Keith Clemons and Kevin Kangu were named to the 12-player All-Tournament Team.

The Trailblazers are four-time national champions. They won national titles in 1965, 1970, 1972 and 2019.

VU holds the record for most national championship appearances with 34. They Trailblazers also hold the record for most consecutive tournament appearances in the modern era of junior college basketball. This was their seventh straight trip to the national tournament.

Head Coach Todd Franklin is part of famous  NJCAA Hall of Fame. This is what he had to say: “We are extremely excited to welcome Karyiek Dixon as the newest member of the Vincennes basketball family ! I believe his physical style will fit perfectly with the way we have built what we believe is the top Juco program in history !

We would like massive THANK YOU for all Kayriek has done for our club. He will always be part of our history and we will be looking our for his further development!

History in the making

4 games. 4 wins. 0 losses. Our U17 squad made history as the first London Elite team to go undefeated at the EYBL stage.

The first stage of the U17 campaign took place in mid-November in Sopron, Hungary. It was the first international tournament for our squad and results did not go the way players wanted, eventually finishing with a 1-3 record. However, the response to these frustrating results could be any better. Countless hours of hard work boys put in helped the team in areas progress was needed.

2nd stage of group A of U17 EYBL was held in the capital of Romania, Bucharest. The first game on Thursday evening saw our team getting first Win against home team Stiinta Bucharest II and provided an opportunity to provide good minutes to every player on the roster. 12 hours later, on Friday early afternoon our Boys versed Moldavian team Admirals Chisinau. the eastern European team has put our boys through a good test however our team continued their good form into game 2 and claimed the second win of the tournament.

3rd game of the tournament gave our boys a chance to face again Turkish side Suadiye which we lost to at stage 1. A game that went back and forth saw our team seal 3rd win of the tournament 71-62 behind 20 points from D.Jesubayode.

The last game of stage 2 provided our team with the toughest test. Facing tough Italian team Kouros Napoli. Led by legendary Italian coach Antonio Petillo. The game started in our favor, with a strong 10 point lead at Half time. However, adjusted defense by the Italian side caused our team to change the style of the game and as a result, Napoli took a 1 point lead halfway through 4th. However, T. Istrefi and A.Wilson’s strong and1 plays secured our side 55-51 win.

This type of performance would not be possible without individual contributions from our talented players. Anthony Wilson was named team MVP. Anthony recorded 11.25 points per game, 9.6 rebounds on efficiency 13.9 per game.

David Jesubayode received a nomination for prestigious All-Star 5 of the tournament behind 14 points per game, 7.5 rebounds, and 3 assists. We cannot miss the contribution from young Conor James who recorded 11.25 points per game.

Elite enters excellent partnership with UCFB

We are delighted to announce that London Elite Basketball club have entered into a partnership with UCFB and its Global Institute of Sport (GIS), based at the iconic Wembley Stadium. UCFB IS a world-first in higher education, with pioneering degrees in sports industry.

GIS, the Master’s arm of UCFB, utilises a global network of industry leaders to provide unparalleled postgraduate programmes in sport. James McKeown, GIS’ Chief Operating Officer, commented: “We’re so excited to announce the UCFB Wembley and London Elite Basketball academy today. It’s a momentous occasion for UCFB to partner up with such an elite basketball programme from here in Brent, creating a pathway for future professional basketballers to come and study their degree with us here at UCFB and Wembley, and train like a pro at the same time.

“This marks our next step in the growth of our elite sports strategy. We’re excited to add to our existing football academies for men and women at UCFB, and hope to see many of our graduates playing sport as well as working in sport in the years to come.” McKeown continues

The partnership will incorporate the launch of UCFB’s very own Basketball Academy, designed for aspiring professionals to continue training and competing at an elite level, alongside gaining a degree in sport, with a particular focus on industry experience and employability. As one of the most dynamically growing basketball clubs in London, we will be providing expertise in coaching for all those involved with the academy. Students at UCFB will be apriority within our teams and will have access to a range of support from our club. Having a partnership in the educational pathway will help us to continue to grow and expand our club.
